Job description

Situation Overview :

ZRG has been engaged to recruit a Director of Operations for a leading organization in the labels industry.

Position :

This position, Director of Operations, is responsible for the tactical execution of the corporate operations goals and objectives in alignment with the overall company strategic growth plan. This will be achieved by managing the overall cost, quality, and efficiency of all functional areas supervised by managing people, products, and processes efficiently and effectively to achieve service and quality level metrics.

Position Description :

Essential Functions

  • Safety is their number one priority; you are responsible for all staff and visitor safety while they are in the building. Ensure that all training is current, all safety procedures and processes are being followed through effective management of coordinated GEMBA walks;
  • Set operational goals and objectives with your functional area managers and direct reports;
  • Conduct employee reviews as per the established company policy for your functional area managers and direct reports;
  • Direct Product Engineering & Scheduling to coordinate priorities on a daily and weekly basis;
  • Direct scheduling to manage each production run with consideration for order due dates, customer requirements, complexity of orders, availability of equipment, materials, and labor;
  • Allow flexibility in order scheduling to manage rush orders for strategic and key accounts with continuity of regular order flow through departments;
  • Ensure that proper preventive maintenance schedules are followed to ensure reliable equipment and tooling performance;
  • Responsible for the organization, appearance, and cleanliness of all related departments in line with current 5S principles and practices;
  • Select, train, and review the performance of all departmental employees making recommendations for changes to maximize employee development and cross-training;
  • Conduct regular departmental meetings to review the performance of the department and company KPI's;
  • Recommend and drive continual improvements related to employee / team development using LEAN continuous improvement activities;
  • Assist in the development of ISO procedures and be responsible for procedure compliance;
  • Responsible for the timely completion of repairs and maintenance on all departmental equipment and facilities;
  • Other duties needed or required.

  • Skills & Abilities

  • Education : Engineering bachelor's degree;
  • 10+ years of manufacturing and operations experience;
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment;
  • Knowledge of the labels / electronics / industrial / aeronautic / automotive industries;
  • Computer Skills : Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required;
  • Certifications & Licenses : Valid Driver's License.
