American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week ICU position in acute care, requiring a current CA RN license and ICU expertise.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 20-bed ICU / CCU within an acute care hospitalPatient ratio is typically 1 : 2, may be 1 : 1 based on patient acuityUnit cares for neuro, cardiac, open-heart, post-cath, and post-surgical patients, including those requiring ICP monitoring, impella, and balloon pumpsDrips include vasoactive agents such as levophed, dobutamine, dopamine, propofol, and fentanylVents are managed on the unitNo CRRT or ECMOUses Cerner EMR system; Cerner experience is preferredNurses are required to read tele strips, as there are no dedicated monitor techs12-hour day shifts (7am-7 : 30pm); every other weekend requiredAbility to float to IMCU (stepdown) or Observation units is requiredSelf-scheduling is available but not always guaranteedFloor-specific orientation consists of three shiftsPrimary responsibilities include caring for high-acuity cardiac, neuro, and surgical ICU patientsNurses will work closely with charge nurses and have access to nurse aides for technical duties (e.g., blood draws, EKGs)RT and pharmacy resources are available 24 / 7Must participate in holiday scheduling, typically one major and one minor holiday per rotationNavy scrubs are requiredEvery other weekend coverage is requiredFirst-time travelers are considered; travel experience preferredCandidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at time of application; pending licenses not acceptedCurrent BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS also preferredMinimum of 3 years recent ICU experience requiredStrong general ICU skills; neuro or cardiac ICU experience consideredCerner EMR experience preferredMust provide two professional references : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last three yearsCopy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
