Job descriptionWork in a 20-bed ICU / CCU within an acute care hospital Patient ratio is typically 1 : 2, may be 1 : 1 based on patient acuity Unit cares for neuro, cardiac, open-heart, post-cath, and post-surgical patients, including those requiring ICP monitoring, impella, and balloon pumps Drips include vasoactive agents such as levophed, dobutamine, dopamine, propofol, and fentanyl Vents are managed on the unit No CRRT or ECMO Uses Cerner EMR system; Cerner experience is preferred Nurses are required to read tele strips, as there are no dedicated monitor techs 12-hour day shifts (7am-7 : 30pm); every other weekend required Ability to float to IMCU (stepdown) or Observation units is required Self-scheduling is available but not always guaranteed Floor-specific orientation consists of three shifts Primary responsibilities include caring for high-acuity cardiac, neuro, and surgical ICU patients Nurses will work closely with charge nurses and have access to nurse aides for technical duties (e.g., blood draws, EKGs) RT and pharmacy resources are available 24 / 7 Must participate in holiday scheduling, typically one major and one minor holiday per rotation Navy scrubs are required Every other weekend coverage is required First-time travelers are considered; travel experience preferred Candidates must not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year Active CA RN license required at time of application; pending licenses not accepted Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS also preferred Minimum of 3 years recent ICU experience required Strong general ICU skills; neuro or cardiac ICU experience considered Cerner EMR experience preferred Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last three years Copy of driver’s license required for consideration High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
