Job Summary :
The Phlebotomist III – Float provides high-quality specimen collection and patient care across multiple locations, representing the face of the organization. This role performs complex phlebotomy procedures , ensures accurate specimen handling, and delivers exceptional customer service. The Float Phlebotomist also serves as a mentor and lead resource to other staff, providing guidance and oversight in multiple clinical settings such as Patient Service Centers, doctor’s offices, and long-term care environments .
This position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as flexibility to support multiple sites and business functions.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform quality phlebotomy services and specimen preparation across assigned sites.
Provide coverage at multiple locations, adapting to varied workflows and environments.
Deliver patient-centered care, ensuring comfort, accuracy, and safety during blood draws.
Act as a coach, mentor, and trainer for new employees, supporting onboarding and daily operations.
Serve as point of contact at assigned sites and collaborate with supervisors for operational support.
Handle multiple priorities in high-volume settings with professionalism and accuracy.
Work with cross-functional teams including Sales, Laboratory Testing, IT, Billing, and Logistics .
Maintain compliance with all corporate, regulatory, and safety standards .
Required Experience :
5 years of phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboarding and data entry proficiency required.
Required Education & Certifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
Phlebotomy Certification or Medical Assistant Certification with Phlebotomy training required for this role.
