Knowledge and Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Equivalent
- Minimum of 1-3 years Benefits or HR related experience preferred
- Understanding of Benefits Administration, FMLA, HR Operations and Retirement
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, basic to intermediate Excel skills
- Working knowledge of bSwift and Ultipro systems preferred
- Basic knowledge of ERISA, employee benefit programs, including flexible benefit programs, financial analysis, and budgeting
- Proficient with manipulating and auditing data from multiple sources

Bswift data integrity
Responsible for review and correction of error reports after each import from UKGReview and enter Qualified Medical Support Orders received, work with local HR to ensure timely response to issuing authority.Respond to CMS inquiry'sProvide enrollment information to the Railroad board as requested for KAI employeesPerform monthly audits to ensure benefit elections match the premium amounts being deducted from employee’s paychecks and vice versaProvide reports to local HR to ensure timely enrollment of new hires, reminder notifications to the employeesBenefits Department Invoices
Audit benefit carrier invoices to ensure eligible and noneligible are being charged accuratelyPull down monthly invoices from carrier’s websites and prepare for processing, ensuring accurate billable rates and any retro adjustments are correct.Maintain the monthly Benefit Budget Tracker by ensuring all invoices sent to AP are accurately and timely recorded and paidReview invoices at the start of each year to ensure the rates being billed are accurately reflecting the agreed upon amounts.Annual Open Enrollment
Assist with pulling benefit enrollment data for the broker to assist with the renewal processAssists with the review of the benefit offering and new year’s ratesAssists with testing of the new plan years’ configurationAudits new plan years rates once loaded to bswiftAssists with the review of all communications for the new plan year(Benefit Guides, Emails, Texts and posters)Works with Carriers to ensure all new plan year collateral materials are available and posted to Bswift LibraryAssists Local HR and Employees with questions on OE; participates in on sitesProvides Local HR stat reports of those who have and have not yet enrolled as well as those who have added new Dependents but haven’t provided documentationAudit the new year’s benefit elections and payroll deductions prior to the first live paycheck for the yearOther Duties / Projects as Assigned
Create process documentation and work instructions for tasks performedSecond tier in escalation process for benefit plan interpretation, guidance and counsel to employees and local HRParticipates in a variety of presentations to inform and educate HR and Management on benefit administrative practices, legislative requirements, and programsResearch current benefit trends and regulatory / legislated requirements and recommends programs / changes to the Benefits Manager.Assists with the design and communication of Benefit and Wellness materials, videos, and tip sheets. Coordinates the distribution vendor specific materials with the locationsReviews legal compliance documentation (SPDs, SARs) and coordinates any required distributions to the employees through local HRAssist with the review of benefits data / analysis for new business proposals and assists with the comparison of benefit offeringsAssists with the systems testing and onboarding of new mobilizations, produces needed reports to the new location and monitors enrollment activityOther duties / projects as assigned
