Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (Days)

This position is located at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Jefferson City.

As a Registered Nurse in Behavioral Health, you will provide compassionate and direct care to patients experiencing mental health challenges. You will play a crucial role in implementing treatment plans and ensuring patient safety in a supportive environment.

Your Responsibilities :

• Conduct thorough admission and shift assessments for assigned patients, documenting behaviors accurately and timely.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze patient data and communicate any changes in condition to physicians.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop, review, and evaluate individualized treatment plans.
• Document all care provided and adhere to nursing standards and facility policies.
• Implement physician orders consistently and accurately.
• Monitor patients and maintain a safe environment within the unit.
• Serve as a clinical resource, supervising the care provided by LPNs and nursing techs.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs, ensuring documentation of education in the Electronic Health Record.
• Apply evidence-based practices tailored to each patient's clinical and age-specific needs.
• Adhere to professional nursing standards, utilizing the ANA Code of Ethics in your practice.
• Maintain a state of alertness and safety throughout your shift.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
