Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit night shift in Kentucky, requiring Epic experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Job Details

  • Work on the Telemetry / PCU unit in a hospital setting,
  • Night shifts, 7 : 00pm-7 : 00am, three 12-hour shifts weekly,
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 5-6,
  • Care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring and progressive care,
  • Uses Epic EMR system,
  • Travelers may float to different units as needed,

Job Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license in hand,
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a PCU or Telemetry unit,
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required (NIHSS can be obtained prior to assignment),
  • Experience with Epic EMR required,
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and manage O2 protocol,
  • Experience in non-invasive airway management and management of drips,
  • Proficient in peripheral and central line care and management,
  • Experience with blood product administration and isolation precautions / PPE,
  • Must provide two professional references,
  • Travelers must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for traveler pay,

    • Additional Information

  • Role includes rapid response team activation as needed,
  • Documentation is performed using computerized systems,
  • First time travelers are accepted for this assignment,
  • Former staff must wait two years before returning as travelers,
  • Annual and orientation modules are required and completed via DevelopYou,
  • Strict policy prohibits direct calls to the facility,
