Job Description
The Language, Speech and Hearing Specialist provides assessment, diagnosis, and individualized therapy for students with communicative challenges to support their learning. They collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and modify IEP goals, deliver small group and one-on-one instruction, and offer consultation on communication issues. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, participating in multidisciplinary teams, providing remediation, and maintaining compliance with regulations.
They also serve as a resource for staff and parents, stay current on district and state policies, and maintain detailed records. Qualifications include a valid California credential for speech and hearing specialists.
