Job Summary :

Provides nursing care and services to patients / families under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or provider. Care is limited to activities that may be provided by unlicensed assistive personnel with demonstrated and documented competencies that do not require licensure.

Essential Responsibilities :

• Contributes to ongoing patient data collection and documentation; identifies changes in patient status and reports changes to RN / Provider; implements patient care under the direction of the registered nurse or provider.
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to apply the nursing process.
• Performs nursing tasks as delegated by a registered nurse or provider that does not require licensure.
• Demonstrates technical competence in basic nursing skills and use of basic patient care equipment.
• Records data and nursing care activities in the medical record consistent with department and regulatory standards.
• Supports nursing care by providing related services such as clerical support and patient transportation.
• D emonstrates knowledge of and application of infection control principles and standards, including patient, environment, and employee situations.
• Reports incidents, work-related injuries, unsafe equipment or environment to management or other appropriate staff.
• Participates as directed during emergency situations.
• Performs administrative and other duties and accepts responsibility as assigned.

Must obtain and pass NCLEX-PN exam and obtain a nursing license within six (6) months from the date of hire.

Qualifies for IV authority.
