Essential Functions :
- Prepares patients for radiologic procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
- Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Processes routine paper work.
- Maintains x-ray room. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
- Processes radiologic film.
- Attends required staff and educational meetings.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Assists doctor with patients.
- Handles some calls for physicians.
Skills / Abilities :
Applicant must know how to perform x-rays and other tests associated with the radiology department.Applicant must be knowledgeable in medical terminology.Responsible for proper documentation guidelines according to x-ray protocols and legal requirements.Responsible for dress code.Along with all other employees, responsible for medical record maintenance, i.e., securing information in the chart, placing dividers if applicable and proper chart order.Shuts down equipment and x-ray room at close of the day.Other duties assigned by Management.Mental / Physical Requirements :
Standing 4-6 hours / day, walking, stooping, bendingRequires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.Occasional stress in working with tense patients.Qualifications
Education
High School Graduate or Equivalent
Registered American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
Current CPR certificate.
License and Requirements :
Must have Tennessee X-ray Operator Licensure.
