Our 254-bed full-service facility offers emergency care, a primary stroke center, orthopedics and the only licensed obstetric and pediatric units in Charlotte County.

The role you'll contribute :

The Emergency Technician is accountable for performing routine care under the direction of the RN. S / he provides for the comfort of the patient and communicates according to protocol. Is responsible for acting as a role model for the mission, and patient promise of AdventHealth. S / he is accountable for working within the parameters of the Florida Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures; and utilizes other pertinent references as guidelines for clinical practice.

The value you'll bring to the team :

Demonstrates competency in EKGs, cardiac monitoring, and BLS protocols.

Monitors cardiac / telemetry status and vital functions of all patients.

Performs as a Unit Liaison, including physician communication, maintaining electronic logs, EMS radio support, and coordinating patient transports.

Adheres to infection control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.

Uses and maintains emergency equipment proficiently.

Documents treatment and administered care in the electronic medical record according to established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :

High School Grad or Equiv Required

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Required

Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) Required
