Summary

As a Child Life Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and providing Child Life programming that supports the psychological, emotional, and developmental needs of pediatric patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities :

• Coordinate, schedule, and supervise special events in the inpatient pediatric areas.
• Collaborate with marketing and public affairs for photography, media interviews, and corporate donor hosting.
• Develop strategic plans to help reduce children's anxiety about healthcare environments.
• Prepare patients and their families for procedures using therapeutic play as a tool.
• Evaluate child's developmental stages and emotional states to tailor support services.
• Identify coping strategies for families and implement methods to assist them.
• Provide consultation on developmental and behavioral issues affecting patient care.
• Maintain records of Child Life services provided to patients.
• Manage the budget and resources for the Child Life department effectively.
• Provide consultations for children visiting patients in the hospital.

Minimum Qualifications :

Physical Demands :

This role requires lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs, inclusive of pushing / pulling patients on beds and stretchers, with frequent standing and walking. Patient care activities may include kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
