Description
Position Summary :
The Assistant Project Manager supports the project management team as they estimate, plan, prepare, and execute projects throughout the year. The Assistant Project Manager serves as the main liaison between the project management team, design team and the construction site team on a daily basis.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Maintains expert knowledge of drawings and specifications, contract documents, schedule and building codes
- Obtains, manages, coordinates, and distributes documentation for subcontractor selections, RFI's, ASI's, change orders and submittals to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget Submits RFI's to design team for review and communicates solution to project management team
- Reviews and manages requests for changes or project materials needed and creates formal change orders / POs
- Reviews project specifications and records submittal requirements to ensure vendor approval
- Assists Project Manager in creating and issuing contracts to vendors / subcontractors
- Reviews contractor pay applications and ensures accurate accounting of project modifications to contractor pay applications
- Organizes all cost change and unforeseen condition communications and inputs cost projections into Procore
- Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and schedules
- Supervises project progress and prepares daily and periodic status and progress reports
- Confirms all change orders, pending change orders, subcontracts, and POs are accurate in monthly project report
- Collaborates with the operations and design teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field issues
- Collaborates with other Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers to share problems and solutions
- Attends pre-bid, construction, and design meetings as requested and records and publishes meeting minutes
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction or related engineering discipline; or equivalent related experience3+ years of experience in construction project managementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesExcellent problem solving and analysis skillsSelf-motivated worker with a team player attitudeProfessional when interacting with othersProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteProficient in Microsoft Project or other project management softwareProficiency in Procore and Bluebeam software preferredAbility to multitask and work under pressure with minimal supervisionAbility to understand project processes and standard progression for construction projectsProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds at timesMust be able to walk construction site, including climbing stairsFrequent travel
