Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,330 per week in Peoria, IL

The unit has 20 beds. Patient-nurse ratios are 1 : 4 / 5 on day shift and 1 : 5 / 6 on night shift. Charge nurses are available 24 hours a day. Typically, charge nurses do not have patient assignments, but may take one if short-staffed. House supervisors are also available around the clock. Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are present 24 hours a day with a ratio of 1 : 6 / 7 on days and 1 : 10 on nights. Some patients are on telemetry. The brand of telemetry monitors used is Phillips. Bedside nurses do not read strips, as there is a central station for monitor techs. Shifts are 12 hours long. Every other weekend is required. Three of six holidays throughout the year are also mandatory. Call or standby requirements may depend on staffing needs. Travel RNs are prioritized for floating, with additional floating based on a rotation of staff. There is no specific dress code for scrubs. Unit-specific orientation is provided. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient care.
