A Data Analyst is required to support this initiative by sourcing, analyzing, and developing visualizations from multiple sources which will be used to communicate to all levels of the organization.
Scope of Work :
- Collect, clean, and validate datasets from various internal and external sources while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and integrity for reporting and analysis.
- Develop and automate processes for data collection, integration, and reporting to increase operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Design and build dashboards and reporting solutions using Tableau, SQL, and data modeling techniques, while maintaining strong data governance practices.
- Analyze trends, patterns, and anomalies to provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with project managers and department heads to identify analytical needs and develop efficient, data-driven solutions that enhance project management and tracking.
- Manage and enhance the data infrastructure supporting the LCLS-II-HE Project during its critical Installation Work phase, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Demonstrate a creative and resourceful mindset when developing innovative ways to automate workflows, analyze data, and deliver impactful insights.
Skills required :
Proficient knowledge of SQL, Excel, and TableauStrong listening, verbal and written communication skills.In-depth knowledge and experience using and developing database management systems.Ability to use logic to calculate data; efficiently construct a database or scrutinize the form of a question.Ability to work with data of varying levels of quality and validity.Demonstrated ability to produce data in a clear and understandable manner meeting user requirements.Ability to work effectively with multiple internal and external customers.Ability to take a leadership role on projects and with users / clients.Skills desired :
Python (1-2 years of programming experience)Proficiency with Smart Sheet tool & workflow developmentProficient knowledge of predictive and prescriptive analytics.Familiarity with project management practices.Experience using Smart sheet.Scheduling Tools (e.g. P6, Microsoft Project)Knowledge of Earne Value Management System (EVMS) theories and PeopleSoft Procurement.Familiarity and experience developing analytical workloads in AWS. For example, developing data pipelines in AWS Glue, data modeling in Redshift, storing data reliably in S3, and experience working with Iceberg.Reporting and Communication :
The Analyst will report directly to the IT Data Systems Manager.Daily status updates will be provided via email, Slack, and ServiceNow tickets.Any delays or issues impacting deliverables must be communicated immediately. Deliverables : Upon request of SLAC, the Analyst will produce the following types of deliverables throughout the period of performance :Reports in various formsPrepare and present performance and operational reports for management review.Tableau dashboardsExcel spreadsheetsSmartSheet workbooks and workflowsDevelop Tableau Prep workflows and SQL queries for data cleaning, transformation, and integration.Manage and enhance the data model of a MySQL database used for reporting and analytics.Work closely with Project Managers and Project Controls on data validation and / or data enhancements.Manage and maintain current workflows for any bugs or issues that may come up.Develop dashboard and query performance optimizations to meet SLA's.Document processes, methodologies, and data definitions for internal reference
