Classification : Part-Time, Non-exempt 15-20 hours / week

Position Summary :

Phoenix Seminary's Mission is to train men and women for Christ-centered ministry for the building up of healthy churches in Phoenix and the world. We accomplish this through our philosophy of scholarship with a shepherd's heart.

At Phoenix Seminary, you’ll join a team of mission-minded individuals who are passionate about serving the community and equipping the Church. As our mission grows, we're expanding our team and seeking a dedicated Digital Content Specialist to support our marketing team and uphold the Seminary’s commitment to excellence.

In this role, you will be responsible for for creating excellent social media engagement through Phoenix Seminary channels and assisting in the production of other digital content to further the Phoenix Seminary brand.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate, art, design, and equipping men and women for a life of ministry.

Principal Responsibilities :

  • Manage current social media channels for Phoenix Seminary (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube).
  • Design and execute a content calendar for all social media engagement that aligns with the objectives and goals in the Phoenix Seminary strategic plan.
  • Develop digital content strategies with the Communications and Marketing Manager to engage prospective students, alumni, and pastors.
  • Develop and maintain reports to track effectiveness in social media engagement.
  • Assist the Communications and Marketing Manager with creating a lead generation strategy.
  • Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media and applications.
  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences.
  • Respond directly and timely to social media users consistent with established best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English.
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video).
  • Proven experience as a digital content creator, copywriter or similar role.
  • Preferred digital marketing competencies.
  • Preferred experience with content management systems.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Preferred basic graphic design competencies in Adobe Suite and / or Canva.
  • Preferred prior experience in theological education (student or employee).
  • Completed undergraduate degree or higher.
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or related degree.
  • High personal and professional integrity consistent with Biblical standards and the statement of faith and governing values of Phoenix Seminary.
  • Physical Requirements

  • Must possess excellent writing skill and communicate effectively through speech and listening.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Schedule :

  • Routine office hours plus variable and self-guided work.
  • Training and development :

  • Job training and development are provided by the Communications team. Self-initiated study and personal development are both expected and encouraged.

    The position described above, like other staff, will be evaluated at the end of an Introductory Period (90-day review), and then, if applicable, on an annual basis.
