Opening Shift Aquatic Supervisor assures the safety of pool users by preventing and responding to emergencies. Opening Shift Aquatic Supervisor is responsible for on-site supervision of lifeguards and all other on-duty aquatic staff. The opening Shift Aquatic Supervisor is responsible for delivering swimming instruction in private, semi-private and group settings as well as training and development of less experienced lifeguards and swim instructors. The Opening Shift Aquatic Supervisor is responsible for managing pool operation issues such as chemical balancing, backwashing, and other CPO related issues. The Opening Shift Aquatic Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a high standard of facility cleanliness and maintenance through duties assigned by the Aquatics Director
Recognize emergencies and respond effectively, completing necessary incident / accident reports.
Supervise the safety of open swimmers, lap swimmers, and the instructional programs.
Report any unusual water or safety conditions to the Director in a timely manner.
Inspect the pool area daily, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
Test and record pool and whirlpool water chemistry, temperature hourly.
Count and record pool and whirlpool bather data hourly.
Perform maintenance secondary duties as determined and scheduled by the Aquatics Director.
Attend periodic in-service training / department meetings as specified by the Aquatics Director.
Enforce pool area policies, rules, and regulations always.
Must be able to instruct swimming lessons in private, semi-private and group settings.
Role includes a minimum of 6-7 hours of swim lessons.
Comfortable working with a variety of populations (young children, adults, older adults, special needs, etc.).

Responsible for maintaining a high standard of facility, cleanliness and maintenance through duties assigned by the Aquatics Director.
24-30 hours per week. Monday Thursday 5 : 45am-10 : 45am. Additional coverage and flexibility where needed.
5+years experience
ARC Lifeguard
ARC First Aid / CPR / AED
Certified WSI with experience instructing private, semi-private and group settings
CPO certification or willing to obtain within 1st year of employment
Experience with Triathalon experience or Coaching experience
Experience with community / commercial pool operations
Strong customer service skills and creativity in working with adults, children and special needs.
Able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of evenings and weekends.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent computer skills use of spreadsheets, editing documents, creating lesson plans, 3rd party payroll system and booking / reservation system.
