Schedule / Hours :
Full-time, evening shifts of 8 or 10 hours, Monday to Friday with on-call responsibilities. Majority of on-call requires overnight availability and includes about 5-8 slots per 8-week schedule.
Major Responsibilities :
Maintain a clean and efficient environment conducive to optimal patient care using aseptic surgical techniques.Assist with the preparation of materials, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.Ensure the safety and efficiency of the operating room by setting up, operating, and managing equipment.Function as a Second Assistant during surgeries as needed.Transport patients and / or equipment while adhering to safety protocols.Maintain a specialty cart ensuring completeness and readiness for use.Demonstrate knowledge required to care for patients across all age groups in compliance with departmental standards.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire unless otherwise determined.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.Experience Required :
No prior experience required.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
Understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical procedure equipment.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Basic computer proficiency.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :
Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.Must be able to lift / carry and perform physical duties safely.Exposure to various hazards including mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological.Must have functional sight and hearing; required to wear personal protective equipment including masks, gloves, and gowns.This job description provides a general overview of the role.
