Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This role does not include management responsibilities; you will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program recognized by the American Medical Association or other relevant accrediting body, or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior student set to graduate in three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must be a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina, or eligible for licensure, or a senior student graduating within three months. BLS certification is mandatory. Continuous NBRC credential maintenance is required. Employees hired before June 2016 may be Certified Respiratory Therapists.
Individuals hired after June 2016 must successfully complete the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist cut score and take the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the clinical simulation exam during the first six months of employment will result in termination.
NRP and PALS certifications are required prior to working independently in the NICU and PICU.
