About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and the principal financial steward of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the long-term sustainability and operational excellence of the company, with a focus on building and maintaining a strong fiscal infrastructure. This includes establishing robust internal controls, comprehensive compliance programs, and direct oversight of all critical financial functions such as accounting, budgeting, audits, and risk management. The VP of Finance will also be tasked with collaborating with the Board and senior leaders to translate the company's mission into a sound financial strategy, providing essential financial forecasting and analysis, and supervising a small finance team.
Candidates for the VP of Finance position at the company should be strategic, collaborative, and forward-looking leaders with a deep appreciation for the performing arts. The role requires a highly organized problem-solver with exceptional conceptual and analytical skills, capable of maintaining existing financial systems and creating new procedures to meet organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have senior-level experience as a financial leader in a similar-sized nonprofit organization, a strong knowledge of nonprofit taxation and filing requirements, and experience in cash flow management of earned and contributed income. A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required, with a master's degree preferred. The VP of Finance must be a decisive, analytical, and pragmatic manager, with the ability to mentor and support finance staff and foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
