About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

License : Active nursing license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

• Ability to read dysrhythmias.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (two attempts maximum).
• Pass / fail simulation lab assessment on the first day of orientation.

Description :

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.

Experience must be recent, within the past 6 months.

The unit consists of general medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring.

Common medications used include Amiodarone and Cardizem to be titrated down only.

Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 4 during both day and night shifts.

A charge nurse is available and does not take patient assignments.

Certified nursing assistants will assist on the unit during the day.

During night shifts, there will be one nursing assistant or SWAT nurse available for tasks.

The requirement includes four weekend shifts within a four-week period, with one major and one minor holiday.

The monitoring system includes GE Monitors and a central monitoring station for telemetry.

Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7.

There is no dedicated IV team, but a house SWAT nurse is available for difficult IV placements.

Floor-specific orientation will include two shifts on the unit.

Cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.

Charting is performed using Cerner.
