A Psychiatric - Mental Health Physician is responsible for providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatment for patients, including medication management and individual therapy. This role requires strong diagnostic skills and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans. The physician also participates in case reviews, documentation, and discharge planning while adhering to legal and ethical standards in patient care.

Qualifications :

• A medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school of medicine and Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible.
• Completion of accredited psychiatric residency program.
• One year experience (pediatric, consult, adult, geriatric or forensic) as a psychiatrist in a mental health clinic, correctional facility, or inpatient psychiatric hospital.
• Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in evidence-based treatment modalities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and the treatment team.
• Ability to work independently and make clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of and adherence to relevant ethical and legal standards.
• A valid license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine and surgery in Michigan.
• Must possess a Drug Enforcement Administrative (DEA) license to prescribe controlled substances.
• Must possess a Michigan Controlled Substance License.
