Responsibilities Position is in a hospital setting with Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital designation Work involves all inpatient Med / Surg and Telemetry units with 20–36 beds per unit Typical patient ratio is 1 : 4–6 for RNs Patient population includes general medical, surgical, and telemetry cases Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, and Phillips monitors Required to float to all Med / Surg and Telemetry units as needed 12-hour day shifts from 7A–7P, 36 hours per week Weekend coverage required for 3 weekends in each 6-week schedule No on-call or call back responsibilities First-time travelers are welcome for this assignment Support team includes CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, discharge nurses, resource nurses, 24 / 7 respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists Phlebotomy is primarily lab collect, but RNs draw off CVLs; PICC team available Scrub color for RNs is navy Must work specified holidays (choose between 11 / 27 or 11 / 28, 12 / 24 or 12 / 25, and 12 / 31 or 1 / 1) Orientation includes one day of facility and module training and two days departmental training Unit culture is busy and highly team-oriented Free parking available on campus Requirements Active GA or compact state RN license required Minimum of 2 years Med / Surg Tele RN experience required BLS certification required ACLS certification preferred; must pass EKG competency exam during onboarding Med / Surg certification is a plus Experience with trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucometer use, and titratable drips (insulin and heparin) Epic EMR experience strongly preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-631658.
