Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides coding and coding auditing services based on operative reports according to correct coding principles, current NCCI rules and LCD coverage determinations
  • Analysis and translation of medical and clinical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, or illnesses into designated numerical codes
  • Acts as a liaison to the physicians and clinical teams and provides feedback to physicians and management staff regarding proper documentation and coding and works within company standards to maintain policy and procedures
  • Meets coding and abstracting deadlines to expedite the billing and charge entry process and ensures best practices are met according to departmental policy and procedures
  • Proficient in all areas to ensure cross coverage

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Cardiology Coder (CCC)
  • 2+ years of physician billing to include at least 1 year of coding experience abstracting from medical record documentation
  • Diversified understanding of CPT guidelines and Medicare rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 / 10 codes, CPT, and HCPCs
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Experience working with maintaining confidentiality

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's Degree
  • Radiation Oncology Certified Coder (ROCC)
  • Certified ASC Coder Credential (CASCC)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
  • Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $35.72 per hour based on full‑time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
