Commissary Coordinator
The Commissary Coordinator is responsible for managing the commissary operations within the Arkansas Department of Corrections. This role ensures that commissary services are provided efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with state and federal laws, contributing to the well-being of inmates and the overall operation of correctional facilities. The position is governed by state and federal laws and agency / institution policy.
Primary Responsibilities
Knowledge and Skills
Comprehensive understanding of correctional practices, policies, and procedures. In-depth knowledge of commissary operations and related regulations. Familiarity with inventory management and procurement practices. Awareness of state and federal laws and regulations governing corrections. Knowledge of basic principles and practices of public purchasing, including competitive bidding practices. Knowledge of stock control and inventory procedures. Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures and the operation of office equipment, including a computer. Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines. Ability to train others in work procedures. Ability to buy with regard to quality, quantity, and price in standard situations.
Minimum Qualifications
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in retail sales, inventory control, purchasing, or related field.
