Healthcare Construction Manager
Hill International is seeking a Healthcare Construction Manager in Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities
Provide professional project management and leadership on multiple large healthcare and research projects. Direct design professionals and administer contracts necessary to meet project goals.
Manage the execution of major healthcare and research projects by providing project leadership, communication, coordination and conflict resolution to ensure project goals are met.
Manage project from initiation through completion of construction. Responsible for monitoring project budget, schedule, and construction services. Drive progress of consultants to achieve expected functionality; and recommend alternatives to recover negative drift. Facilitate timely decisions by campus representatives and report progress and issues impacting the project goals to stakeholders.
Ensure design and construction documents comply with project requirements. Facilitate timely reviews of accessibility, building and fire code compliance, Storm Water Pollution Protection Plan, Historically Under-Utilized Business plan, and SECO to avoid delays to the project.
During construction, direct and / or provide support to the Project Manager, Senior Construction Inspectors, Construction Inspectors, and institution staff in management of construction activities and processes.
Serves as primary project liaison with campus staff, facility user groups, operations and administration during design and contract administration to ensure timely input, manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and facilitate decisions.
Stay current in Codes and Regulations applicable to design and construction, including International Building Codes, NFPA, 101, TDLR, OSHA, ADA, ASHRAE 90.1, SWPPP, and any special requirements of the building type (e.g., healthcare, research labs, special campus project types, etc.) or the local jurisdictions. Collaborate with other OFPC colleagues to initiate and develop process improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or construction management or 10 years of related field and construction management experience.
Minimum of five years' experience providing professional construction management and leadership with vertical experience.
Must have healthcare and research experience.
Experience working on multiple large healthcare projects within the construction industry is required.
Must be willing to work fulltime onsite in Galveston, TX.
