Minimum Qualifications :
Medical terminology preferredComputer data entry skills preferredPrevious laboratory and specimen processing experience preferredStrong organizational skills along with the ability to perform to a high level of accuracy preferredAbility to manage high volume, high stress, work situationsBLS certification within 90 days of hireCore Competencies :
Manages patient orders accurately and efficiently.Performs specimen processing and handling according to established protocols, procedures, and standards of laboratory practice.Exercises appropriate critical thinking and problem-solving skillsApplies specimen processing safety standards and specimen management methods to laboratory practice.Job Responsibilities :
Demonstrates proficiency in documenting patient specimen flow in Laboratory Information System (LIS).Demonstrates good organizational skills and workflow management.Processes specimens according to requirements, including preparation of specimens for dispatch to external labs as needed.Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills in reconciling patient orders and discrepancies.Maintains a safe work environment and complies with standards for safe practice and standard precautions.Assists with new employee orientation and training.Performs other duties as requested.Equal Opportunity Employer / Protected Veterans / Individuals with Disabilities
