Healthcare Setting : Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Assignment Length : 13-week travel contract

Start Date : December 22, 2025

End Date : March 23, 2026

Nursing Shift : 7 : 00 AM – 7 : 00 PM (12-hour day shifts)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1360 - $1460 per week

Patient Ratio : 4 : 1 (flexes to 5 : 1 during staffing shortages)

Unit Size : 25 beds

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, progressive care, or acute care nursing experience

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications

Strong communication, clinical support, and teamwork skills

Preferred : Experience as a preceptor or charge nurse

PCU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to PCU patients, including those with stroke, cardiac drips, continuous BiPAP, and post-procedure needs

Monitor and interpret telemetry and bedside monitoring equipment

Assist with emergent procedures such as thoracentesis

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Meditech EMR

Uphold unit policies, safety protocols, and best nursing practices
