Job description

PAY RANGE :

  • $14.75 - $16.75 / Hourly HOURS / AVAILABILITY : Hours vary, up to 30 hours per week POSITION SUMMARY : Under the supervision of the Food Service Director, the position primarily involves the preparation, delivery, and clean up of meals for all applicable Camp Erdman programs.
  • THIS POSITION DOES NOT INCLUDE HOUSING.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / JOB DUTIES :

  • Prepares and assists in serving food under the supervision of the shift manager.
  • Is responsible for the washing of dishes and the cleaning and care of the kitchen, equipment, and dining hall.
  • Strictly follows sanitary standards set by the Hawaii State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  • Strictly follows sanitary standards set by the YMCA of Honolulu and Food Service Director at Camp Erdman.

  • Must be at least 16 years of age TB test Completion of a background check prior to hire Skills / Knowledge :   Knowledge of standards of food preparation, serving, and kitchen procedures preferred Experience as a cook - camp or institutional food service preferred Education / Training : High school diploma or equivalent preferred Completion of an approved Hawaii Food Handler course preferred   WHY THE Y? : Free Y membership with employment  Referral bonuses - Y employees can earn cash or Y credit bonuses for referring a new hire
