Charleston Nursing Job Details

Location : Charleston, SC 29425 (South Carolina nursing jobs)

Facility Type : Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Hospital, Magnet Hospital

Unit : Med / Surg Float Pool (Main Hospital & Ashley River Tower)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 16 / 2026)

Shift : 3x12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 30), 36 hours / week

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Holiday Rotation : Required

Guaranteed Hours : Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1420 - $1530

Charting System : EPIC

Scrub Color : Royal Blue or White top with Royal Blue bottoms

Parking : On-site garage (minimal registration fee)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active South Carolina RN License or Multi-State / Compact State Registered Nurse License

Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience

BLS certification required

Proficient in isolation precautions, oxygen administration, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care, IV initiation and maintenance, and rapid response / code team protocols

Ability to float between medical-surgical units as assigned

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)

Willingness to participate in emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in multiple Med / Surg units

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform routine and specialized nursing procedures

Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition, utilizing rapid response / code teams

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records

Follow infection control and safety protocols

Offer compassionate support to patients and families

Participate in unit meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
