CNA : Certified Nursing Assistant - All Shifts

Opportunities in Skilled Nursing / Long Term Care

NEW Pay Rates up to $23.50 / hour based on experience

UMC is currently seeking C.N.A.'s for our Pitman Manor Community.

Pitman Manor , a UMC Community in Gloucester County, our senior community in Pitman New Jersey, is truly integrated into the life of the town. We are part of a beautiful residential neighborhood, near to highways and public transportation with easy access to both Philadelphia as well as the Jersey Shore.

The CNA : Certified Nursing Assistant performs various non-professional nursing care activities and related services necessary to care for the personal needs and comfort of the residents.

Requirements for a CNA : Certified Nursing Assistant :

High School Diploma or GED
6 months experience in a long-term care setting
Current and valid CNA certification in New Jersey

Responsibilities for a CNA : Certified Nursing Assistant :

Perform personal care activities for residents

Completes daily skin checks and reports changes to nurse immediately

Participates in the dining experience, i.e., serving, clearing, cutting & feeding- based on residents' strengths

Shares resident preferences with other staff using appropriate communication methods

Maintains continuity of care daily by timely documenting and communicating care tasks completed with each individual resident assigned in the point of care kiosk

Attends and actively participates with Interdisciplinary Team Care Plan meeting to identify residents' strength based approaches and skills for assigned residents

Assist residents with the use of adaptive equipment, including but not limited to : walkers, wheelchairs, eyeglasses, dentures and hearing aids

Understands, uses and follow restorative nursing principles and practices to assist resident in maintaining their optimal level of function and maximize their strengths

Reads and understands the individualized summary plan for residents, and provides support to the residents according to their summary and care plan

Observes and identifies residents' changing needs and condition at first indication, and reports immediately to nursing as appropriate

Takes and records vital signs & weights as instructed by nurse. Makes rounds several times each shift to identify residents needing assistance

Perform treatment task under the supervision of the licensed nurse and therapist

Seeks opportunity to learn for personal growth : completes in-services training programs, attends nursing staff meetings and mandatory assigned training
