Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level II trauma acute care setting with Cerner charting and rotating call responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Work in a 16-suite Operating Room within an acute care hospitalLevel II trauma setting with an average of 28 cases per dayPatient cases include general, GYN, urology, peripheral vascular, bariatric, orthopedic (including total joints and trauma), neuro, ENT, oral, plastics, c-sections, and laparoscopic proceduresNo scrubbing required for RN staff; circulating duties onlyPrimarily day shifts with 4x10-hour (0700-1730) or 5x8-hour (0700-1530) schedules availableOne week of PM shifts (5x8 hr, 1500-2330, Mon-Fri) every four weeksNight shift opportunities possible with prior facility experienceCall duty required 1-2 nights per week and one weekend approximately every 5-6 weeksMinimum call response time is 30-45 minutes depending on team assignmentHoliday coverage required for at least 1 holiday per yearFloating to Outpatient Surgery Center across campus as neededCerner EMR used with transition to Epic plannedWork alongside a dedicated OR team including charge nurse and surgical technologistsScrub uniforms provided at no cost (navy blue via Cintas vending)Department-specific orientation provided : 2-3 days with educator, CBTs, and 1-2 weeks for case familiarizationAll staff are required to clock in and out at the facilityFirst-time travelers are considered for this positionRequirements
Active WI or compact RN license required by start dateCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) requiredMinimum 1 year of operating room RN experienceAbility to circulate for a wide variety of cases as listedCandidates with address within 80 miles considered local and subject to different rateMust provide two professional references including one supervisor reference and one peer or supervisor referenceFormer permanent staff must have been separated for at least 6 months with approval for returnBenefits
