About The Position

License : Active RN license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred

Must-Have : General ED Skillset

Experience with critical care drips

Cardiac rhythm interpretation

PIV starts

TNK / TPA administration

Conscious sedation

Description :

The Emergency Department sees on average 200+ patients per day.

This unit operates in a very busy and fast-paced environment.

Patients include a heavy trauma stabilization population, including GSW and stabbings.

The department also serves a large mental health, homeless, and substance-addicted population.

Common diagnoses include stroke, respiratory illness, chest pain, abdominal pain, and DM / DKA.

RN-to-patient ratios are variable, typically 1 : 4.

CNA-to-patient ratios are also variable, typically 1 : 20.

Floating may be required to meet regional needs, with travel time compensated while working within the scope of practice.

Weekend rotation is required every other weekend.

Travelers will work approximately 75% of holidays.

Requests for time off will be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays, and must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours are unable to be met.

Unit culture emphasizes teamwork.

Scrub color is navy.
