Position Overview : The Head Of Consumer Controls is a senior leader responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust risk and control environment across the Consumer and Small Business Banking division at First Horizon. This role will oversee all aspects of risk management, control frameworks, and issue management. The incumbent will be instrumental in building out the Risk And Control Self Assessment (RCSA) program, as well as assisting business leaders in control mapping for Digital Banking, Retail, and Small Business Banking. The Head Of Consumer Controls will lead a small team dedicated to establishing best-in-class risk and control processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of proactive risk management throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk management and control strategies for Consumer and Small Business Banking, with a focus on Digital Banking, Retail, and Small Business segments.
• Develop, execute, and oversee the Risk And Control Self Assessment (RCSA) process, ensuring comprehensive identification, assessment, response, and monitoring of risks and controls.
• Build and manage an end-to-end issue management programincluding issue identification, documentation, tracking, resolution, and reporting.
• Partner with business leaders and associates to map business processes to controls, identify gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure robust control environments by supporting frontline associates and leaders with process and compliance reviews, control design, and risk mitigation guidance.
• Maintain oversight of regulatory and internal policy requirements, integrating changes into risk and control structures across the Consumer and Small Business Banking organization.
• Provide ongoing training, coaching, and support to associates to foster a culture of compliance and ownership of risk management responsibilities.
• Prepare and deliver clear, actionable reports and presentations for senior leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
• Manage and mentor a team of risk and control professionals; foster their growth, accountability, and performance.
• Proactively monitor emerging risks and industry trends; recommend and implement strategic changes as needed.
