Job Summary
As a Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for essential ramp service tasks, including loading and unloading baggage and cargo, marshalling aircraft, and performing water servicing. A focus on safety and attention to detail is crucial. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
Compensation : $20.50 an hour
Responsibilities
- Marshall aircraft upon arrival and departure.
- Load and unload cargo / baggage on and off aircraft.
- Safely drive and operate ground support equipment, including belt loaders, tugs, and baggage carts to pick-up and deliver cargo / bags between the terminal, warehouse and aircraft.
- Sort and load baggage.
- Perform ground service functions, such as connecting / removing ground power and ground start units and water service.
- Perform aircraft pushback, wing walking and related guide man functions.
- Maintain a secure work environment.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalentAbility to lift and handle heavy baggage and cargo (up to 50 lbs or more)Valid Driver's license, must be maintained throughout employment in this roleStrong communication skills for coordinating with team members and flight crewsFlexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nightsBasic mechanical aptitude for operating ground support equipmentAbility to pass background checks and comply with airport security regulationsAttention to detail and a commitment to safety protocolsFluently read, write, and speak the English languageThis job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement of the Transport Workers Union (TWU), a labor union which requires joining the TWU and paying union dues.Preferred Skills
