Job Title : Electrical DesignerJob DescriptionThe Electrical Designer will play a critical role in designing and analyzing electrical systems for diverse projects, with a strong emphasis on healthcare design experience. This position demands outstanding technical expertise, proficiency in managing multiple projects concurrently, and advanced proficiency with design tools, particularly Revit smart schedules. Candidates with experience in healthcare, science and technology, Veteran Affairs (VA) projects, and sustainable energy systems will be highly regarded.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, security, fire alarm systems, and renewable energy solutions.Create detailed construction documentation, including floor plans, one-line diagrams, schedules (including smart schedules), and
expertise in designing electrical systems for healthcare facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NFPA 99 and other healthcare-specific
experience in VA projects to ensure compliance with federal standards and project requirements.Integrate sustainable practices and renewable energy solutions into project designs.Contribute to LEED-certified projects by ensuring designs meet sustainability standards.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget adherence.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including MEP engineers, architects, structural, civil, contractors, and clients, to align designs with project objectives.Review designs to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including NFPA, NEC, IBC, and ASHRAE 90.1, as well as state and local
engineering analyses, including load calculations, and budget
on-site surveys to collect data for accurate designs and layouts.Review contractor cost estimates, bid packages, and construction submittals for compliance with project
technical support during construction, resolving issues to ensure successful project delivery.Present design concepts to clients and stakeholders, addressing feedback and incorporating modifications to enhance project outcomes.Essential Skills5+ years of electrical engineering experience specific to building design.Proficiency in Revit.Strong understanding of electrical design for buildings, including low and medium voltage, conduit routing and design, and load
Skills & QualificationsAny design experience in healthcare, higher education, or multi-family.EIT or track toward PE
EnvironmentThe office is modern and up to date, featuring an open concept with cubicles and offices that have glass walls / doors. It is a very collaborative environment. Located downtown, the office offers a parking garage and street parking, as well as a gym and plans for expansion. The dress code is business casual. This is a first shift position with flexible start and end times between 7-9 AM to 4-6 PM. After 90 days, there is an option for a hybrid schedule on Wednesdays and Fridays.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67 / hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
