About The Position

Job Title : Special Procedure Technologist

Experience : Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in EP, Cath Lab, or IR

License : Associate's Degree or equivalent in cardiovascular technology / basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, training and / or education.

Certifications : CRT-Radiographer (R) - ARRT, CRT-Cardiovascular (CV) - ARRT, CRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) - ARRT, CRT-Reg Card Elect Specialist (RCES), CRT-Reg Card Inter Specialist (RCIS), CRT-Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have : Must have scrubbing experience.

Description :

This position involves providing direct care for patients undergoing heart and / or vascular procedures.

The Special Procedure Technologist assists physicians and delivers quality patient / family-centered care.

The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prepare patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, and manage vascular access sites.

Patient and family education is also part of the role.

Essential functions include monitoring patients undergoing routine invasive or interventional procedures.

The technologist will provide intra-procedural technical support and ensure quality patient / family-centered care.

They may be required to perform and record hemodynamic / physiologic waveforms and calculations.

Effective communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and ancillary departments is essential.

The technologist will perform quality assurance checks on technical equipment and validate department skills.

Maintaining radiation safety standards for staff and patients is required.

Participation in On Call duties as scheduled is necessary.

Technologists must be able to assist physicians using sterile technique and fully participate in imaging and vascular cases if required.

The role may involve utilizing various technologies for procedures and assisting in device implants and case circulation as necessary.
