About the role
In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal part in optimising and improving our plating processes to ensure the highest quality of our products. Since electroplating is a niche process, we are looking for a candidate with a professional chemical background who will function as a process engineer. The position is based in our Ang Mo Kio facility in the North-East region of Singapore.
What you'll be doing
Lead, participate in, develop, and refine the plating processes, utilizing chemical knowledge for solution optimization. Ensure quality control of the FG through monitoring and testing, troubleshoot and resolve process issues using chemical principles, and maintain detailed documentation and reporting to communicate findings and progress effectively.
Responsible for the KPI & deliverables.
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations while implementing best practices for handling and disposing of chemical materials.
Collaborate with suppliers, cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, maintenance, and QA teams, communicate technical information effectively, and apply Lean Manufacturing techniques for continuous improvement.
Lead or participate in process control improvement projects to enhance product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and improve product performance.
What we're looking for
Master's or Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering with a focus on Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in reel-to-reel electroplating.
Working experience with mass production reel-to-reel electroplating is essential.
Knowledge of electroplating bath composition and bath impurity measurement is essential.
Knowledge of electroplating analytical instruments for assessing deposition thickness, adhesion quality, topography, and composition.
Knowledge in mechanical processing and material characterization is highly advantageous.
Experience in resolving manufacturing process and product issues independently.
Strong problem analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of statistical tools (SPC, Minitab / JMP) is preferred.
