About this position

The Application Administrator, Senior, is an application design and configuration expert for vendor-purchased and NMHC developed applications. Acts as liaison with designated department business owners and super users, application vendors, educators, and support staff regarding application upgrades, requests, and optimization. The Application Administrator, Senior, will often be experienced in multiple areas of expertise, being cross trained on related applications. Application focus areas include patient access, revenue cycle, clinical, ancillary department and / or administrative or corporate applications. This position will function as an application team member, often acting as a resource and mentor for other team members as well as across other IT Departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively initiates and participates in IT workflow definition and monitoring of processes including 1) Incident and Problem Management, 2) IT Service Request and Task Management, 3) Change Control Management and 4) IT Project Management.
  • Analyzes customer support issues to identify application and system problems and determines solutions in a timely and accurate manner. Collaborates with other IT staff to coordinate interdependent team activiities.
  • Accurately and efficiently works to provide application workflow and functional analysis, build and configuration, unit and integrated testing, and plans for transition to application ongoing support.
  • Performs basic project planning and management for optimization and small projects as needed.
  • Provides proactive lifecycle management of IT application services. Facilitates existing, and assists in development of future, IT services provided by the team.
  • Understands workflows with the objective to provide application and Reporting Workbench reports to meet business owner needs. Works with Measurement & Reporting staff to align workflows for Clarity reports.
  • Participates in downtime, communication and recovery processes for application environments.
  • Serves as a senior level resource and mentor to other IT staff to promote knowledge sharing and professional growth. Models North Memorial desired behaviors and culture.
  • As Access Control Administrator for assigned applications, grants, revokes or changes computer access as requested and approved per North Memorial policies and procedures. Participates in guiding information requests and processes as needed for audit and access reporting.
  • Provides contract rate analysis and impacts in response to departmental requests.
  • Assists Financial Analysts with issues related to contracting and reimbursement.
  • Accepts other duties as assigned to promote the accomplishment of organizational goals.

  • Protects customer and team member privacy and only accesses customer and / or team member related information as needed to perform job duties.
  • Reports violations or areas of concern to supervisor or Corporate Compliance Officer via established methods of communication.

Requirements

Education

  • BA / BS in information technology, healthcare or business related degree preferred
  • Associate Degree in related field required with 7 years of application use within a business
  • and healthcare IT experience.

    Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in a healthcare related field, using information technology in daily operations
  • Demonstrated analytical critical thinking skills for process development or problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated expertise and efficiency in customer service methodology and accountability.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and expertise of healthcare processes and application system coordination.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of database structure and working practice of reporting techniques and tools.
  • Licensure / Certification

  • Maintained professional / clinical competence, certification and / or licensure as applicable
  • Certified training, followed by demonstrated competency certification in applicable software within six (6) weeks of class completion
  • Certification in Epic Cadence and Referral modules preferred. Additional certification in Epic Prelude a plus but not required.

    Salary Range :  N24 ($ - $, based on experience

    Shift Differential : Compensation may include shift differential pay depending on the position and shift worked.
