About the Role

The Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel with a focus on commercial construction law to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the legal function, providing essential support to the commercial teams. Key responsibilities include the full spectrum of commercial contract work, from drafting and negotiating to reviewing a variety of agreements. This encompasses EPC and O&M contracts, option and lease agreements, supply agreements, sub-contractor agreements, purchase agreements, and confidentiality agreements. The role also involves advising on the legal aspects of the development and realization of energy projects, with a specific emphasis on major equipment purchase contracts, construction contracts, and various other agreements related to real estate, interconnection, and power purchase.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in commercial construction law, with a focus on the energy sector. They should be adept at coordinating with external legal counsel and be prepared to take a leadership role in negotiations. A solutions-oriented approach, excellent communication skills, and a keen understanding of business strategy are essential. The role requires a candidate with a deep knowledge of construction contract forms, including FIDIC, NEC, JCT, and bespoke contracts, and experience in project development and financing, particularly in the field of alternative energy and distributed power sources.
