  • Key Responsibilities :

  • Can function effectively in a high-volume restaurant while multitasking and prioritizing tasks under pressure.
  • Help coordinate and guide the FOH team to ensure smooth service and high standards throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a mindset focused on continuous learning and personal development.
  • Bring positive energy and a collaborative attitude to every shift.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols, including proper food handling, labeling, storage, and sanitation.
  • Demonstrate physical stamina and the ability to remain active throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift over 20 lbs multiple times per shift.
  • The Shift Manager is required to be available for a minimum for 4 shifts including availability on weekends, defined as Saturday and Sunday.
  • Must be available for various leadership meetings i.e. all-staffs, manager meetings (from time to time), and restaurant-specific meetings
  • Upholds Edible Beats' cultural & philosophical priorities, including :
  • Searches for "Yes" and is solution oriented; goes above and beyond to facilitate guest satisfaction & staff support

  • Is willing to step in when needed to cover the restaurant's needs.
  • Requirements

    IN-SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Escalates guest complaints and employee performance concerns to management as needed.
  • Reinforces staff adherence to service standards and communicates unresolved issues to leadership.
  • Coordinates with kitchen and beverage leads to ensure accurate and timely flow of food and drink information to staff and guests.
  • Completes opening / closing duties, including cash handling and shift reporting.
  • Provides post-shift updates to management on staff performance, guest feedback, inventory needs, and scheduling issues.
  • Demonstrates high proficiency across most FOH roles with consistent execution.
  • Maintains top-tier hospitality, technical service, and situational awareness throughout the shift.
  • Possesses deep knowledge of food, cocktails, beer, and wine offerings.
  • Utilizes Toast POS, Teamwork, and other systems to support efficient service.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Regular use of online operational, information, & communication platforms, including but not limited to : ShiftNotes, Gmail, Google Docs and Drive, Toast, and Teamwork
  • If agreed upon as part of their responsibilities, places orders, receives orders and completes inventory
  • IMPORTANT AWARENESS :

  • The Shift Manager provides support for successful services. Primary functions are to the floor and fellow service staff to facilitate 100% guest satisfaction and staff success in addition to administrative processes
  • End of day financial responsibilities include - ensuring manager banks, cash drawers, and deposits are completed with accuracy and integrity.
  • General assistance to the management and operations team in areas of daily restaurant operations, including, but not limited to :
  • a. Coordinating day to day opening, closing, and operating procedures.

  • b. Facility maintenance.
  • c. Information communication.
  • d. Facilitation of daily cash handling and financial reporting e. Day to day ownership of the guest experience.
  • f. Regular communication with the management team about any and all issues related to the restaurant.

Actively contribute to a positive work environment, and understand the pillars of service and how each guest's "movie" should be created. The shift manager must continually demonstrate their commitment to the aforementioned expectations to continue in their leadership position. Job performance will be evaluated regularly and negative performance may result in demotion.
