JOB DESCRIPTION : Provide coaching around fundamental skills of wrestling for 6th-8th grade boys and girls. Support the Head Wrestling Coach. Attend practices / meets on a timely, consistent basis. Maintain inventory of equipment, uniforms, paperwork. Serve as a positive role model and ensure safety of all athletes. Supervise athletes in the gym, locker room, and on bus trips. QUALIFICATIONS : Successful coaching experience Adheres to sports philosophy of Phoenix-Talent Schools Model high standards of behavior Meet / ability to meet coaching certification requirements : FA / CPR, Concussion Training, Anabolic Steroid, blood-borne pathogens, etc. Experience with wrestling preferred Must have a flexible work schedule to accommodate practices and matches PREFERENCE : May be given to those candidates who hold a valid Oregon teaching license May be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English REPORTS TO : Athletic Director / Principal JOB GOAL : To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
