QC Inspector - Structural Steel | Memphis, TN | Quality-Driven Opportunity

Location : Memphis, Tennessee

Industry : Structural Steel Fabrication & Erection

Compensation : $30 - $35 per hour

Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform rigorous inspections of structural & miscellaneous steel (beams, columns, brackets, welds) for defects using visual checks, UT, and dimensional gauges.
  • Ensure compliance with AWS D1.1, AISC, EN 1090 standards and verify material traceability (mill certs, heat numbers).
  • Identify & document non-conformances (weld porosity, misalignment) and work with welders / fabricators on corrective actions.
  • Monitor coating / painting quality (adhesion, thickness, galvanizing) per SSPC / customer specs.
  • Conduct final pre-shipment audits to confirm components meet drawings, tolerances, and load-testing criteria.

What We're Looking For :

  • Experience in steel fabrication QC inspection (or related field).
  • Knowledge of welding standards (AWS D1.1), AISC, and EN 1090.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods (UT, MT, PT) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail & ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
