Job Responsibilities
With limited supervision, maintains a statewide two-way radio communication system to include troubleshooting and repairing communication equipment and peripherals to manufacturer’s specifications using assigned test equipment and service manuals. Performs preventative maintenance and operational tests on mobile and portable equipment. Performs preventative maintenance and operational tests on base station equipment. Removes and installs base and mobile communication equipment. Creates programming templates and program assigned communication equipment using provided programmer / laptop. Trains end-user on communication equipment operation, use and care. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains facility structured wiring. Assists with tower installation, grounding and maintenance. Ensures assigned vehicle and shop are clean, organized and all required equipment, tools, and parts are readily available. Maintains accurate and detailed records of all work performed and training provided. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and two and one-half (2.5) years of related work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.
