We are currently looking for a Property Tax Specialist to join our team in Portage, MI! The Property Tax Specialist is responsible for corporate personal property and real property tax activities by state and local governmental bodies to minimize property tax obligations.

What are the responsibilities of the Property Tax Specialist?

• Analyze annual property assessment notices and tax bills.
• Work with the accounts payable team ensure timely property tax payments.
• Research and provide market support and comparative assessment data.
• Research and help prepare personal property returns.
• Manage dates and deadlines for bills, appeals, and returns.
• Assist with property tax audits.
• Review and provide analysis of Assessment Values / Taxes.
• Develop and prepare reports for the leadership team.
• Work closely with internal business partners.
• Navigate assessing websites to aid in valuation review.
• Support the Budget / Forecast process.
• Occasional on-site visits to inspect properties.
• Research current real estate market conditions and their effect on the residential real estate markets in various geographic areas.
• Prepare independent value estimates.
