Sterile Processing Technician Qualifications

At least 1 year of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or Central Sterile Processing Technician

Current Sterile Processing Technician certification (CBSPD or CRCST preferred)

Knowledge of hospital sterile processing procedures, infection control, and safety standards

Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced clinical environment

Excellent attention to detail and dedication to patient safety in healthcare settings

Sterile Processing Technician Responsibilities

Clean, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and medical equipment for hospital procedures

Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, inventory, and equipment tracking

Work collaboratively with surgical, nursing, and clinical support staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies

Follow infection control protocols and hospital safety guidelines to support patient care

Inspect and test instruments for damage, reporting issues to supervisors or healthcare management
