Job Title :  Lead Installation Technician – Data Center / PoP / CO (100% Travel)

Location :  Continental U.S. (Must reside east of Las Vegas and within 1 hour of a major airport)

Employment Type :  Contract-to-Hire

Travel Requirement :  100% Travel (Up to 3-week deployments)

Per Diem & Reimbursements :  Provided (Lodging, Food, Mileage, Travel Time)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled  Lead Installation Technician  with extensive experience in  Data Center, Point of Presence (PoP), and Central Office (CO) installations . This role involves traveling across the U.S. to support infrastructure builds for a top-tier cloud service provider. Candidates must be comfortable with extended deployments and shift work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and assign tasks to Level 1–4 installers on-site.
  • Perform installations in compliance with  GR-1275 and NSTD119  standards.
  • Construct and install cable racks, trays, and infrastructure components.
  • Conduct hardware testing, including power verification and system provisioning.
  • Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment.
  • Accurately document job status, materials, and expenses in the project management platform.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Supervisors, and Engineering to resolve issues and ensure quality.
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds customer and internal quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience  in Data Center, PoP, or CO installation.
  • Proficient in  Lace Cable  techniques.
  • Strong understanding of  installation and quality standards  (GR-1275, NSTD119).
  • Certified in Skill Levels 1, 2, and 3.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and familiarity with power tools.
  • Knowledge of AC / DC power systems, fiber optic cable installation, and optical routing equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to various environments.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience in  project management  or leading installation teams.
  • Familiarity with web-based inventory and project tracking tools.
