Job description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced EEG Technologist for a night shift position in an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, requiring EMU monitoring and pediatric EEG experience.

Job Details

  • Work in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with coverage of inpatient EEG requests as needed,
  • Patient population includes pediatrics,
  • Responsibilities include monitoring and maintenance of EEGs, with EMU experience required,
  • 3x12 hour night shifts, Friday through Sunday, 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM,
  • Requires work on holidays that fall during scheduled shifts,
  • Expected to float within scope if needed,
  • Uses Epic EMR; Epic experience required,

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years EEG technician experience required,
  • Must have EMU monitoring experience,
  • Experience working with pediatric patients required,
  • Current VA or compact state license must be in hand at time of consideration (license required if applicable),
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program (diploma, Associate's, or BSN accepted); BSN preferred,
  • Epic charting experience required,
  • Two professional references required,

    • Additional Information

  • Duties include EEG monitoring and performing maintenance on all EEG equipment,
  • Holiday coverage is required when holidays fall during scheduled shifts,
  • All time off must be approved and is not guaranteed, with no time off allowed during the first week of the assignment,
  • Return staff must be gone for at least one year before eligibility to return as a traveler,
  • Locals are accepted at the same base rate; there are no radius requirements,
  • Natural nail policy in effect; artificial nails are prohibited,
  • Drug- and smoke-free workplace,
  • Candidates may not begin without completed fingerprinting and results if required for ER or Psych areas,
  • Mandatory modules must be completed during orientation,
  • Do not exceed 40 hours per week unless manager approval is obtained,
