PCU RN Job Details

Job Title : PCU Registered Nurse (Neuroscience 9E Main Hospital)

Location : Charleston, SC 29425 – South Carolina nursing jobs

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,470 - $1,570 per week

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 1 / 2025 – End : 3 / 2 / 2026)

Shift : Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM), including holidays as needed

Hours per Week : 36

Patient Ratios : 1 : 3–1 : 4, based on acuity

Weekend Requirement : 4–5 weekend shifts per 4-week period

Floating : May float within scope to meet facility needs

Facility Highlights : Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, Magnet Hospital

PCU Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or Stepdown nursing experience

Active South Carolina RN License or Multi-State / Compact Registered Nurse License (pending license considered with proof of application)

Certifications : American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Experience with EPIC charting system preferred

First-time travel nurses accepted

Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled

PCU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Neuroscience Progressive Care Unit

Monitor and manage patients with complex neurological and medical conditions

Administer blood products, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips (no titration)

Interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac events

Provide central and peripheral line care and management

Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed

Implement isolation precautions and non-invasive airway management

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes

Float to other nursing units within scope as required
