Position : Montessori Lead Teacher

About Montessori Kids Universe Bannockburn

At MKU Bannockburn, we provide a high-quality, authentic Montessori education for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Our nurturing and engaging environment allows children to explore, grow, and develop through hands-on learning experiences. As a Montessori Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in guiding children toward independence and success while fostering a warm and collaborative classroom culture.

Responsibilities

Classroom Leadership & Teaching

Lead a Montessori-prepared environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Plan and implement Montessori lessons and activities tailored to meet the needs of individual learners.

Ensure the classroom is organized, safe, and well-prepared with age-appropriate materials.

Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes independence and self-confidence.

Maintain a normalized classroom, ensuring children have opportunities to develop coordination, concentration, independence, and order.

Parent & Community Engagement

Build strong relationships with families by communicating regularly about student progress.

Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide progress reports to discuss child development.

Collaborate with parents and staff to create a supportive learning environment at school and at home.

Staff Development & Team Collaboration

Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers, ensuring a cohesive teaching team.

Collaborate with staff members to create enriching curriculum experiences.

Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and Montessori accreditation standards.

Maintain student records and progress documentation.

Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures to provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment.

Qualifications

  • Montessori Certification
  • from an accredited Montessori training center desired - not required-  we will train.

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience in an early childhood setting.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
