Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown Intermediate Care position on a dedicated Stroke Unit with night shifts and AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.

Job Details

  • Work in a Stepdown Intermediate Care unit within a hospital setting,
  • Patient population includes medical, DKA, cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, sepsis, trauma, and post-surgical cases,
  • This is a dedicated Stroke Unit with 30 beds,
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4,
  • Night shift schedule from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30,

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license with current Nursys primary source verification within 30 days prior to start,
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience,
  • American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications required,
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required and must be current per group (annually or every 2 years as appropriate),
  • Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a valid US home address,
  • Submission requires two separate professional references and a copy of driver's license,

    • Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include caring for patients with complex medical, surgical, and neurological needs,
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required,
  • Local candidates are accepted but may be offered a reduced rate based on the facility's radius rule,
